.taking some steps.

.andrew wants brooklynn to walk SO bad.

.we both think she is going to be so much happier when she can walk around where she wants, keep up with us, as well as her friends Ellie and Ayla (who she plays with throughout the week while i watch them).

.anyways. andrew has been working hard with her. she will sometimes stand there, holding onto nothing for support if she is distracted looking at a toy. and recently she has been taking 2-3-4 steps. she knows she can do it, just doesn't have the confidence to do it just yet. the more she is around ellie and ayla, she wants to walk, and has become more mobile.

.oh and she is NINE MONTHS TODAY. i cannot believe she is already that old. she is closer to 1 than newborn!! only 3 more months and she will be one... i can't even think about it.

.here are her stats from her 9 month apt.

brooklynn weighs a whoppin 17 pounds 7oz (she is in the 38th percentile)

she is 28 inches tall (66th percentile... she gets her "shorty" from her mama)

her head is 17 1/4 inches (50th percentile.. my sister's kids all are in 90th for her heads)

.now for the video of brooklynn taking some steps. she does the best at the very beginning of the video with 4 steps. but so fun to see her go. and her outfit, haha, it what we call her prison inmate outfits. its super easy and brooklynn makes it look cute. hahaha. enjoy.!

.sleeping bouncing baby.

.brooklynn never seems to amaze us with her new "tricks" or developments she is making.

.she stands in the tub. she screams when she wants your attention. she squishes her nose back at you. she waves. she gives "high-fives". she stands in her crib. she "walks" while holding onto something. if you are far away from you, she will "walk" till she doesn't have any other way, gets down and crawls to you. she pulls herself up on EVERYTHING. and so much more.

.but her latest, is awesome.

.she bounces in her sleep.

.okay not really, she just happened to fall asleep in her bouncer, and when we would say brooklynn can you bounce... she would wake up just enough to realize we were telling her to bounce.. and would bounce away while falling back into her deep sleep. at one point she was SO OUT of it while bouncing i thought for sure i was going to see her head bounce right off.

.so here is our "trickster".

.morning cartoons.november 1st.

.i think its pretty normal for kids to like some morning cartoons.

.i just didnt think at 6 months, brooklynn would be into it.

.she LOVES dora the explorer to this day... i cannot stand it.

.i was just trying to clean this day, and get a few things done, and set brooklynn down and turned on disney junior.

.and came back to this.

.this is the FIRST time she had ever shown interest in the t.v.

.brooklynn learns no.

.we have used the word no many times.

.but it seems that just in the past 2 months she is really learning it.

.its funny that i can hear andrew with her in another room, repeatedly telling her "no", "no", "brooklynn no".

.and than i go in there and i say, "brooklynn no" and she stops, looks at me and cries.

.she knows who is boss in this household.

.aka the mean one.

So here is andrew telling her no (demeber 14th) , and she gets SO upset about it.

.its quite hilarious because she knows daddy's computer is off limits, but mommy's is free for all.

.poor girl, she just wants to be cool like daddy.

.i was telling andrew she spits at you. he didnt believe me.

.until he was playing with her, and she spit at him.

.mind you, this is BEFORE she even said dadada.

.we all thought it was funny.

.until she did it during the most quiet time of church.

.or when your walking behind someone, and she spits and it sounds like your making a fart noise, and the person looks at you.

.yep. we regret encouraging this.

.no matter how much i say mamama or love on her, or i dont know, spend all day with her.

.what a way to show your mom, you love her.

.october 6th it snowed. this was a thursday. the saturday before it was 85 degrees out. CRAZY.

.enough said, she LOVES the snow. loves loves loves it. she is JUST like her dad.

.i think its because they were soft and nice at the beginning, but now get down and play with her for hours and hours.

.here is uncle evan giving brooklynn a blanket ride, and she is LOVING it.

.this is RIGHT after she got a bath, from eating a sour gummy worm for the first time. she cried and cried when daddy finally took it away.

.what happens at grandma's house stays at grandma's house.

.nerd brooklynn, just like daddy.

.out of all the toys she has got from gma/gpa westensee or gma/gpa mcdonald or from us...it seems the most simple, stupid thing keeps them more entertained and more happy.

.car keys, a spoon and bowl, peanut butter jar, a blanket with texture...the list goes on and on... and it makes you wonder.. why do a spend money on toys?.

.well brooklynn takes after her daddy? why you may ask, because of one of her most favorite toys hands down. she discovers this toy november 13th, and she STILL loves it to this day. set it in front of her, and without fail get something done, while she is playing for AT LEAST half an hour.

.its ridiculous.

.and the only other time brooklynn met lily was when she was born.

.so grandma westensee and heather and lily came up to hang out with brooklynn and i for a couple of days.

.it was two days filled with shopping. laughing, yummy food, and lots of video/picture taking.

.this is probably one of the most funniest pictures.

.anytime lily cried, brooklynn did too.

.she just didnt like her cousin so sad.

.and when lily would stop, brooklynn would stop soon after.

.so our child HATES getting on her knees, even now, she enjoys laying on her tummy, or STANDING for sure.

.even now, for her to pull herself up on things, she wants to just stand, not get on her knees to pull herself up. lazy i know.

.anyways so here is brooklynn "crawling" she is not as fast as she is now, or nearly as willing as she usually is this particular night, but here is a snip of her "crawling" november 10th.

.pumpkin patch. october 7th.

.i am going to make this short, because we all know, you dont want to hear from me, you just want to see brooklynn. i am use to it, no more excitement to see your daughter, just your grandchild. lol.

.megan, andrew, ayla and brooklynn went to the pumpkin patch with us on october 7th. it was FREEZING, and no one was there. so the trip was short, but hey, at least they went right? we can say we were good parents? right?

.i am finally catching up on my blog.

.i finally uploaded all the videos we have on our camera (through november).

.so these are random.

.but they have brooklynn.

.and who doesn't love seeing that girl.

.grandpa westensee works idaho falls every now and than, and when he does we get taken out to dinner, and enjoy time with just grandpa. but this time, GRANDMA westensee came too. and since grandpa stays at a hotel, we (grandma and i) took brooklynn swimming.

.i had no doubt that she would love it, because she loves her baths and always have since day 1. but i didnt know she would be so brave and just want to go, with no fear.

.christmas in arizona.

.christmas in arizona was a blast.

.i loved....

*being around all my family

*playing tons and tons of basketball

*the yelling of all the kids around the house

*the endless games of pictionary & nertz, that kept us up until midnight and one MANY times

*the many nerf gun wars throughout the house, once the girls opened the nerf guns ronnie and i got them

*the GIDDINESS of my mom... probably one of my most favorite things ever, that i seriously miss

*andrew shopping with all my sisters and my mom, and teasing him that he looks like he has sister-wives

*coming home from being out with andrew, and coming home to brooklynn having a major mohawk.

*chuck e cheese with the family (well minus nat, dax, ronnie, richael, and dustin) it was alot of fun, and used up alot of time.

*andrew not being in school during this time.

There are many many more memories and fun things, but no one wants to sit here and read all of that. Common, be real, they want to see pictures. A huge thank you to Kristina and Dustin for opening up their BEAUTIFUL house to everyone, for dirtying up many many bathrooms and bedrooms, for the great food, entertainment, and for eating STILL leftover food from when we were there!
