.but the weekend went even faster.
.it always does.
.this upcoming week we are just going to hang low, have some play dates, make some Christmas goodies, attend our wArd Christmas party, see some Christmas lights, get my hair done. (I'm beyond stoked for this) and celebrate Christmas on Sunday, before flying out to Utah.
.but until that post, let's cover what fun events took place this past weekend.
.monday and Tuesday I tried to do a few fun things with my kids before the craZiness of the relief society program hit. We had a play date set up but b wasn't acting so great, so I had to stick to my word that if she wasn't going to act nice than no play date. Bummer.
.wednesday we ran to Walmart and Costco and to the church 3 times. (dropping off food and decorating) and met with a small group of ladies to practice our musical number. Also found out Costco doesn't have regular cheesecakes on Wednesdays, which meant another trip the following day . Lame. Decorated the church from 8:30-midnight. Had the kids there until. 10:40 because of a horrible experience with the other ward. (More on that later).
.thursday we slept in, went and saw santa. Parker was not a fan, b was thrilled. It was free. Fabulous. We also rode the carousel (free)... Well b did because Parker wanted nothing to do with it. When it ended , I asked b if she needed help. She said no and proceeded to attempt to get off. Ended up getting her leg stuck, hitting her head, and hanging by her stuck leg for 10-15 seconds until an attendant got to her. Yes, I carried out two crying kids. Did a lunch date with dad, went to Costco. Stopped at church to drop off good. Went home cleaned, made bread bowls, went to church, more complications with the other ward, had our program , more drama with the other ward again, cleaned up, came home , went to bed.
Friday I was soooo tired. Me and the kids slept in, I cleaned the house like a mad lady. Andrew and I used our free tickets to the spurs game and had a lot of fun.
.saturday Andrew left early for a 10 mile hike with the scouts. Kids and I shopped for a few things to do a few crafts , came home made cookies, had a play date, and Andrew and I attended a Christmas party that evening. It.was.a.blast . So much fun . So many fun people.
.sunday- cut the boys hair, church, relaxed, b had the runs and felt sick, facetimed family, b was suddenly fine. And here I am .
.waiting in traffic to get out of the spurs game. Can you tell how thrilled Andrew is to take another picture.
......……………if you made it this far and want to read about the church drama continue reading. Otherwise we will see you next post. :). .………….………
So the Sunday before our activity our rs president came up to us (d and i) and told is that the other ward who's Christmas party is the following evening contacted her and asked if they could hang lights Tuesday night. We said sure, just know we are decoRting Wednesday . Done. No biggie.
.we show up Wednesday night to find wire up , but no lights. We also could not find thr sound box, a mic with cord , the mic that plugs into the podium, and a mic stand. All things that we KNOW the library had because we had checked off of these off our list many Sundays ago. All things that are checked in and out of the library and stay in the library when not in use. Everything was huge. Without the small sound box, we had ZERO sound. Nothing. We ended up asking the other ward ( who happened to be the ward who's party was the next evening and who also was suppose to hang lights) they had stashed it in their clerks office so no one had access to it. ( are you for real ?!? Church property for EVERYONE to use. We also found a mic in there as well. Seriously ?!? We were still short on things and had to change the game plan to manage . D had to go out and buy a new cord for the mic. So we had a mic for the narrators and musical numbers.
.thursday we show up an hour early because all we needed to do was food prep since we were there till midnight. WRONG. They had come in and up the lights up and moved things around. So we had to fix , and move things back. Than about 20 minutes before we are suppose to have people show up for our program we have people come with boxes of stuff saying they want to set up, and if they can set up on the other side of the curtain. You know , the curtain thAt is still 1/3 of the way open. Umm no. It's our program . We have it reserved. Thanks.
They waited out in the hallway the entire time. And they were SO loud. As we were trying to have a reverent spiritual program we can hear them outside, and constantly popping their heads in to see if we are done. No joke.
Am I done ? No.
We said a closing prayer and as soon as we did they were setting up on the other side of the curtain that is 1/3 of the open because of the sound system setup. We were still having dessert.
.and as soon as we start to clean up they throw up the curtains. Push stages into the room and begin practicing for their program. Sitting at our tables and being loud and telling us what can/cannot be put away because they are using it. Gives us 20 minutes to just clean up will ya?
Did I mention they than asked to borrow our centerpieces? Ha! D was WAY nicer than me, because I would of said no.
And we found out everything we were missing was also stored in their clerks office. Mic, mic for podium, mic stand, sound box. . . Seriously ?!?
Our bishop found out last night, and he was NOT happy. We are all grown up, start acting like it please, and stop acting like out program isn't important enough for some respect. Thanks.
Rant over.
.thank goodness our program was beautiful we had about 65 ladies show up. It was fantastic.
