.the westensee family.: .brooklynns first birthday.

.not sure if this girl knew it was her birthday... and wanted to party early... but i wanted nothing to do with her 6:00 am wake up. thank goodness we got her back to sleep after a bottle....only to wake up at 7:30. what the heck? i still was NOT going to get up that early (yea, i know, its not early...but i enjoy my sleeping in while i still can. she went back to sleep and woke up at 9am. in the BEST MOOD ever. she was talking and dancing and happy. it was hilarious and we enjoyed every minute of it.

.than we went upstairs and got some breakfast...brooklynn insisted on fruity pebbles. can you say "daddy's girl?" she didnt want me feeding her so i just let her go at it. its her birthday and she needed a bath anyways.

.andrew and i decided that we wanted to set a tradition to take our kids out for their birthday to lunch/dinner... so we planned to go to red robin and split something and make sure that whatever we got had fries. brooklynn LOVES frieds. i mean LOVES them. i was really excited because i knew they sing to you on your birthday and give you a little dessert and planned to let brooklynn experience it all. i was armed with camera and video camera.

waiter: can i get anything else for you?

me: actually. its her birthday and i was hoping you could sing to her.

waiter: we dont sing at this particular red robin.

me: what? are you serious?

waiter: yes, its indepentantly owned, and we dont sing here. i am sorry.

me: (thinking) are you freaking serious? i wouldnt of came and spent my money if i knew that.

EPIC FAIL.

.oh well. we have a birthday party planned one week for now. brooklynn has a special birthday outfit that i have put together... and i have special treats planned. and i will make sure EVERYONE sings to her.

.we came home. brooklynn slept, i washed and car inside and out. than made my mom's special chocolate cake from scratch... it turned out okay... my mom makes it better. grandma debbie wrapped some of her presents and we lit a candle on a cupcake and sang to her...(who needs red robin?)

.brooklynn decided that since she is one now... that she can do new tricks. she thinks there is no way she can get hurt... one of these days... as for now here is video of her trick.

.here are some pictures from the rest of the evening... and video. when we sang to her... it was PRICELESS what she did. i dont want to spoil it.. but you will have to watch the video to find out what she did. can you say first birthday memory?

.she got cups that stack... she LOVES stacking things.

.she got tons of other presents...a lot of cute, cute outfits for texas.

.she also got a baby that you put the bottle in her mouth and it makes a sucking noise... but when you take the bottle out, she cries. brooklynn loves feeding the baby....another funny video of what she would do by the end of the night when the baby would cry. adorable.
