.blessings of our weekend sickness.

.friday evening, i was contemplating if i was going to go grocery shopping for the following week, or wait until saturday (when i usually go)...SO GLAD i decided to go on friday.

.because saturday morning at 7am i woke up SICK.

.the flu. awful. i dont even remember the last time i had the flu, but it was as terrible as i can remember.

.mother nature was also making her appearance (thank goodness towards the very end...but STILL). I would have to sit on the toilet, and hold a bowl....you get the picture...it was ugly, from both ends.

.every 45 minutes or so, sometimes sooner, i was up in the bathroom. awful.

.than sunday morning...at 5am...Andrew rushed to the bathroom and i heard the awful, and familiar sound. gggggrrrrrreeeeeaaaaatttt.

.well, sunday my kids may have been in their p.j.'s all day long, and they may have watched all the t.v. they wanted, and our apartment may have smelled like lysol, and been a complete disaster ...but we survived. i was still SUPER weak, and trying to recover, but i knew it was my turn to hold down the fort, because Andrew had done it the day before.

.through all this sickness, it was a great reminder to me of the blessing i have.

.we were blessed to get this sickness over the weekend. there is NO way i could of done it on my own. even though andrew did have to take today off, its better than 3 or 4 days off.

.i am blessed for an awesome husband who watched both kids, made sure they were fed, happy and so was i. he checked on me all the time. he got me everything i needed. he would tuck me in when i was freezing. he would sometimes come in and rub my back as i was puking my guts out. he EVEN washed my hair for me. i REALLY wanted to take a bath by the end of the night, but had ZERO energy to wash my hair, so good ol hubby washed my hair for me.

.we are blessed andrew has a GREAT job that allows him to take today off, and not have any financial burden on us.

.we are blessed our kids didnt get it. i thought FOR SURE we were going to be each holding a child, and a puke bowl....they did have the runs....but i can handle that. only once b had it REALLY bad and it may have escaped the diaper, but i wasnt her fault, and it was minor.

.i am grateful for me to be reminded of these blessings...i guess the Lord needed to give me a swift kick in the butt and help me remember to be grateful for what i have.

just to make this post not completely boring...here are 3 videos...they arent that exciting, but they are something. (chewy the first 2 are for you, and your ELMO shirt being delivered)

.p pulling himself up on EVERYTHING.
(he is MUCH faster and better than this...this was like "the beginning" of pulling himself up.)

  1. I'm glad you're over the worst of it! and I love your optimism through it all--Isn't it amazing how aware Heavenly Father is of our individual circumstances? You got sick when Andrew could be home to help, and your kids didn't get it. What a blessing! hope things get back their normal & healthy state in your home :]
