.i still remember the day i found out i was having a little MAN. i was thrilled, but also so scared about having a BOY. it was weird calling you our little boy when we had called you our little girl for 34 weeks. even though daddy may have not acted totally excited, he totally was...just more in shock.
.the day i was going to be induced with you, i could not sleep. i think i slept for 4 hours...maybe. i was nervous for how my whole labor would go. i was nervous about leaving your sister ( she was in great hands, with grandma mcdonald). i was nervous about how your sister would act when she saw you. i was nervous about how long it would be. i was nervous about everything going well. i was nervous about not having a name...i was NERVOUS. so i got up and curled my hair. if it was going to be a LONG day of labor, at least i can look halfway good when i had you...right?
.after checking into the hospital, being started on pitocin. getting my epidural, my contractions completely stopping, and "attempting" to break my water....within a 5 hour period, i went from 3 centimeters to fully dilated feeling like i am about ready to have this baby without the doctor there. luckily dr haun did arrive to deliver you. the crazy thing was i pushed double the amount i did with your sister (okay so i pushed maybe 8 times with you total)...still only pushed for 15 minutes total. but about 10 minutes into pushing we realized you had flipped and were face up...so it was going to be a little more difficult.
.at 2:25pm our little name-less boy entered the world. you cried and cried and cried, and than you were wrapped up and was so content. your poor little head was so bruised from delivery. everyone said you looked like grandpa mcdonald. you looked like an adorable little old man. we felt so complete.
.fast forward one year later and you are SO much fun. you are still VERY much a mommy's boy. you LOVE your sister. you follow her around and laugh with her every day. you guys are best friends, and i just LOVE that. you have such a sweet personality, but also a "tough" personality. you can deal with brooklynn and hold ground for yourself.
.you dont talk or sign as much as your sister did. i didnt ever teach you signing because as much as i like it, it took a while for brooklynn to start SAYING the word while she signed, instead of just signing it. so i never taught you. you dont need your paci nearly as much as brooklynn. we would have a rough day or two but thats it with you, if i took your paci away. but i have gotten better and left it in your bed for only naps and bedtime and your completely fine with that.
.your built JUST like your dad. tall and skinny. your almost as tall as your sister! you sleep like your mama. you LOVE your sleep. you take one LONG 2.5 hour nap during the day and sleep a solid 12-13 hours at night. mama LOVES you for that. if you wake up in the middle of the night THERE IS A REASON.
.your such a sweet boy who loves to give hugs and kisses. i cant even picture our family without you. we sure are happy you picked our family. i sure love being your mommy and love the special spirit you bring into our home.
.happy birthday parker boy. we love you.
.birthday post coming soon.
