.i know my posts are jumping around. i will get back to our arizona trip part two when i get all the tubing videos uploaded. for now, i will get caught up on our past week fun we have had with grandpa and grandma westensee.
.they flew in friday evening, and rented a car so we could all travel together. SO NICE. i cannot wait until they come and visit and dont have to do that. we were so grateful. so they drove to our house and knocked on our door. brooklynn was in heaven when she opened the door to gma/gpa. parker....it took a bit to get use to. he is a shy little boy at the first.
.we headed out to grab dinner. we tried a new place, and lets just say we wont be going there again. lesson learned. we all just laughed when our dinner came out on Styrofoam plates. hahaha. we headed back to the house and the kids showed gma/gpa the house and played and played in the game room while we all talked.
.saturday usaa rented out six flags for all i.t. employees and their families. this is what started it all. andrew told me about it, and i texted debbie and teased her that i REALLY needed a babysitter. before i knew it, she told me her and roger were coming and booked their flights.
.happy, happy, happy to be there.
.train ride. i feel like poo.
.andrew rode one ride by himself because i felt like i would loose my breakfast.
.ice cream stop.
.so, we left the kids. it was SO nice. i love my babies, but i LOVE my hubby too. just having one on one time was way nice. and we barely had to wait in lines. maybe 7 minutes? SO nice. however, since having kids, my stomach cannot handle rollercoasters as well. :( so after about 5 rollercoasters, i needed a break. so train ride it was. than we headed to a lunch put on by usaa as well. of course we HAD to get ice cream, because, andrew is married to ME. so we got some cold stone. we went on a few other rides, and we headed ONE LAST rollercoaster. it was andrew's favorite. we had to wait in line a little longer because it started POURING rain. but it was still nice. than we stopped at costco to get a few things and headed home. we went out to dinner again as a family. it was delicious.
.apparently while we were having fun at six flags, grandpa was having fun with brooklynn. he told gma he wanted to take b shopping so off they went. needless to say, he couldnt say no to brooklynn and came home with tons of goodies and one of her FAVORITE cereals, that she only gets when gma/gpa buy it for her.
.sunday we headed to church, came home and debbie and roger made a delicious steak and potatoe dinner. i had some ladies over for my dinner swap to plan our next month of meals. oh, have a mentioned that? i cook ONCE a week (monday thru friday) its FABULOUS. i absolutely LOVE it. we all AGREE on the meals. I cook Monday and deliver and Tuesday thru Friday i have meals delivered to me.
.monday we took a LONG trip to austin. roger wanted to take the scenic route, and the gpa got us lost 2-3 times. it was crazy. we stopped in a little town on the way and got some hot dogs and stopped at the candy store. it was a cute little town and gave the kids a little break from being in the car. than we headed to a national park roger wanted to check out. it looks FABULOUS online, and we pulled up and it was a dump. lol. the water was brown, they had 4 swings, and one slide. it was another funny, laugh it off adventure. we stopped and let the kids swing for a bit. than we headed to ANOTHER national park. we got lost on the way, and it ended up taking twice as long as it should of been. once we got there you had to walk about 10 minutes to the "falls." we laughed when we got there and no falls could be seen. we are in a drought people. hahaha. so we walked along the rocks where the falls should of be and the kids threw rocks in the little bit of water there was. it was still a blast. than we headed to a bbq place that was suppose to be delicious...and let me tell you. it was. SOOOO good. their turkey was SO moist and the boys enjoyed sausage and brisket. their mashed potatoes were delicious too. it was overall a LONG day in the car, but still really fun.
. i look like an idiot, but my boys look great.
.LOVE THIS PICTURE OF DEBBIE AND BROOKLYNN.
.can you spot roger, andrew and parker in the picture above ^^^ .
.LOVE THIS PICTURE OF GRANDPARENTS AND KIDDOS.
.ANOTHER STINKIN CUTE PICTURE.
.tuesday the boys (roger and andrew) worked for about half the day. than we headed downtown to go to the Tower. it was pretty cool. the traffic getting there was insane and there was so much coonstruction half the roads were close, but we made it. we went to a 4D movie and it was hilarious. Parker HATED it and cried the whole time, and Debbie screamed one time and it scared Brooklynn the rest of the movie. SOOO funny. luckily it was JUST us, so them crying and being scared wasnt bugging anyone else. Than we headed up on the tower. It was very cool to see how FLAT san antonio is and all the areas you drive through from up high. after the tower we headed to a local pizza place. it was pretty good.
.b taking advantage of dad being home when she woke up.
.wednesday roger headed to the airport to fly out for a meeting. his plane LEFT at 6am. He couldnt find the car return place so he had to leave the car to make his flight. in the morning we headed to our ward play group and the kids played and played. than andrew and i headed to the airport to pick up the rental car and return it. we took advantage of having no kids and tried a pizza place everyone in our ward was in love about. it was really good. but it was more VERY italian, and so no hawaiian pizza. i am a LOVER of hawaiian pizza. lol. but it was still really good. debbie and brooklynn made cookies that evening while daddy was at mutual. they had a blast. brooklynn LOVES to help.

.thursday debbie AGAIN watched the kids while i ran errands. i went to the old navy stuff and save, went to lunch with andrew, ran to target, ross, and the dollar store, and walmart. when i got back we went swimming with some friends. their pool is absolutely beautiful. can you believe we were still swimming in october with 90 degree weather? it was fabulous. i headed to a girls night that evening that was a BLAST.
.let me also tell you, brooklynn LOVES swimming. she can swim better than me. no joke. she can jump in, hold her breath, and swim a pretty good distance for never having lessons, and for being 2.5. she LOVES the pool. so we had to go and show grandma how well she can swim for her little self.
.friday debbie and i ventured to the children's museum with the kiddos. they lasted about 2 hours and were done. i had a groupon so it only cost me $15 bucks for all of us to get in for the whole 2 hours. i would say total success. the kids had a total blast. once we got home debbie helped me clean the house and make food for our football party. funny thing- we dont even follow football, but we needed an excuse to have a party and you can get a lot of people when you say BYU football. especially when the game was only on a certain channel. we ended up having 8 couples show up and over 20 kids. CRAZY house but tons of fun. people left around 11pm and shortly after andrew and i went to pick up roger from the airport.
.saturday we decided to go to seaworld. we didnt decide until around noon, but still made a day out of it. we stopped for lunch before, got to the park around 2 and stayed until almost 8. it was a blast. the shows were fun, the kids had fun, and even us adults went on a couple rollercoasters while we took turns staying with the kids. we came home, bathed the kids and put them down for bed. i headed to the store to pick up cinnamon rolls for breakfast and we came home and watched a movie.
.this is right after gpa gave him spicy ketchup.
.can you see what grandpa lets parker do.
.FRONT ROW....CUTE picture.
.literally right in front of us.
.we sat in the front row...i caught the whale mid flip.
.WHY DO MY KIDS SMILE AND LOOK AT THE CAMERA WITH GMA/GPA..SO CUTE.
.CUTE PICTURE OF B AND GRANDPA.
.sunday we spent listening to general conference, and the kids soaked up every last minute they could with gma/gpa. b cried and cried and cried when they left. it was SO sad. that is one hard thing about living far away is when it affects your kids. its hard for them to say bye. usually i cry when we have to say bye (especially to my mom because we only see her once a year) but because i know we are heading to utah for christmas, it wasnt so hard.
.thank you debbie and roger for coming. the kids LOVED it, and b still asks when she is going to go to grandma's house. she LOVES singing all the songs you taught her soon. see you in 11 weeks.!
